Xi Jinping to discuss with the President of Turkmenistan the development of relations between China and Central Asia and bilateral partnership

 President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping plans to discuss with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov «a grandiose plan for the development of relations between China and Central Asia and Sino-Turkmen relations» during the first summit in the framework of the China-Central Asia format.

 This is stated in a congratulatory letter from Xi Jinping addressed to the head of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the celebration of International Novruz Holiday, published on Wednesday in the central media of Turkmenistan.

 “I pay great attention to the development of Chinese-Turkmen relations and welcome your participation in the upcoming China-Central Asia summit in China in May,” Xi Jinping said in his message.

 “I hope to discuss with you the grandiose plan for the development of relations between China and Central Asia and Sino-Turkmen relations in order to achieve great results in cooperation between the two countries,” the head of China continued.

 In his letter, Xi Jinping recalled that during the state visit of Serdar Berdimuhamedov to China in January of this year, “we held friendly and substantive talks with you, jointly declared that Chinese-Turkmen relations were brought to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as the implementation of the concept of a common destiny  China and Turkmenistan».

 «This determined the path for the development of bilateral relations,» Xi Jinping stressed.

 In conclusion, the head of the PRC wished Serdar Berdimuhamedov good health and success in his work, as well as happiness and prosperity to the friendly people of Turkmenistan.

 Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang also sent his congratulations on the occasion of Novruz Holiday to the head of Turkmenistan, in which he expressed readiness to promote cooperation in all areas to achieve mutually beneficial results.

 “I am ready, together with you, to implement the important agreements reached between you and President Xi Jinping, deepen work on the implementation of the strategic initiative “One Belt – One Road” and the strategy of Turkmenistan “Revival of the Great Silk Road”, promote cooperation in all areas to achieve mutually beneficial results  and improving the well-being of the peoples of the two countries,” Li Qiang said.
