In January-March, the trade turnover of Turkmenistan with Russia increased by 10.4%

 Trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan in January-March 2023 increased by 10.4%.  This was reported by the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.

 “Commodity turnover between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan in January-March 2023 increased by 10.4% compared to the same period in 2022.  In price terms, the total amount of trade for the reporting period amounted to 386 million US dollars.

 The publication notes that Russia ranks third in the total trade turnover of Turkmenistan.  Close ties have been established between Turkmenistan and the subjects of the Russian Federation – the Republic of Tatarstan, the Astrakhan and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as the city of St. Petersburg.

 In general, the indicator of foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan for January-March of this year increased by 8.4%, the publication says.

 In January of this year, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, speaking at the Turkmen-Russian business forum, which took place in Ashgabat, said that the volume of Turkmen-Russian trade in 2022 amounted to about 1 billion US dollars.  At the same time, Mishustin stressed that the potential for economic cooperation between the two countries is much higher.

Tajikistan intends to increase imports of liquefied natural gas from Turkmenistan
