A conference on the topic “The role of Turkmen science in the international oil and gas industry” was held at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshigeldy Kakaev on the eve of the Day of Science, which will be celebrated in our country on June 12.

The event was attended by representatives of the student and teaching staff of higher educational institutions of our country.  Lecturers and students of the branch of the university located in the Balkan region joined the conference via video link.

During the conference, teachers and students spoke about the results of their research work, as well as about the prospects for cooperation with foreign partners in various fields of science.

As the speakers noted, comprehensive work is being carried out in Turkmenistan to strengthen the scientific research base and create a digital economy based on advanced technologies and fundamental theoretical sciences.  In addition, large-scale work is aimed at training qualified specialists who are distinguished by ingenuity and increasing the enthusiasm of talented youth for science.

A striking example of successful scientific activity is the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshigeldy Kakaev.  Here, in February 2023, the first international conference ”Scientific and technical possibilities for obtaining hydrogen energy from natural gas” was held for the first time.

Teachers and students of the university regularly publish scientific articles about their research and project work.  For five months since the beginning of this year, more than 240 materials have been published in foreign and domestic journals, the authors of which are teachers and students of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshigeldy Kakaev.
