Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a telephone conversation with the head of Turkmenistan on Friday, congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the commissioning of the facilities of the first stage of construction of the "smart" city of Arkadag, TDH reports.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan also conveyed congratulations on the birthday of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which coincided with the opening date of the city of Arkadag.
In turn, the head of Turkmenistan thanked the Turkish leader for the new Turkish-made TOGG electric vehicles presented to him and the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan as a gift.
- Handing over the keys to the cars on the opening day of the city of Arkadag, built on the initiative of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan on the basis of the concept of "smart city", coincided with the birthday of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which increased the joy of a significant event, - the President of Turkmenistan stated.
Noting that the strengthening of long-term cooperation with Turkey in various fields is one of the important vectors of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his personal contribution to the development of bilateral partnership.
In turn, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the presentation of white electric vehicles of the Turkish TOGG brand as part of the opening ceremony of the city of Arkadag was an unexpected pleasant surprise for him.
It was also noted that the commissioning of facilities that have no analogues in the region “smart city” is a confirmation of the success of the state policy implemented in Turkmenistan with a pronounced social orientation, and focused on the comprehensive innovative development of the country, increasing its economic potential.
During a telephone conversation, the interlocutors highly appreciated the development of the Turkmen-Turkish dialogue based on the principles of trust and mutual respect, confirming the commitment of the two countries to expand ties and fill them with new content.
The interlocutors also exchanged congratulations to the peoples of the two countries on the occasion of Kurban Bayram, sacred for all Muslims.
