Serdar Berdimuhamedov: Over the past six months, positive indicators have been achieved in the country's economy

 At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave a positive assessment of the results of the first half of the year and outlined priority tasks until the end of 2023.

 Addressing the participants of the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held last Friday, the head of state noted that over the past six months positive indicators have been achieved in the country's economy, the necessary work is underway to create new enterprises focused on the production of competitive high-quality products.

 As the President emphasized, active relations are maintained with the UN and other major international structures, close interaction is carried out in the field of energy and water security, and on environmental issues.  Efficient activities aimed at the development of transport, educational and cultural spheres, the protection of human rights and freedoms, and the strengthening of universal security have been established.

 According to the results of the first half of the year, GDP growth is 6.2%, Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated with satisfaction, stressing that large-scale construction of industrial and social facilities continues in the country.  In accordance with the National Rural Program, capital investments in the amount of over 1 billion 400 million manats were disbursed over six months.

 Also during this period, the opening of the "smart" city of Arkadag, which was awarded 21 international certificates and awards, took place, the head of state noted, adding that the use of advanced information and communication technologies in its construction will ensure a comfortable and safe life for the population.

 Serdar Berdimuhamedov also stated that residential buildings with an area of ​​about 1.4 million square meters have been put into operation in the regions, cities and districts of the country, industrial facilities, kindergartens, schools and other facilities are being built.  A generous harvest of wheat has been harvested, which ensures food security.

  • In accordance with the plans, the policy of diversifying energy resources to world markets is being implemented, the project for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline and other regional projects are being successfully implemented, - the President said.

 At the same time, the head of Turkmenistan emphasized that state programs for the production of import-substituting products in the country, an increase in export-oriented goods, and the creation of an electronics industry are being effectively implemented.

 Among the priority areas of work at the present stage, ensuring economic and financial stability, increasing employment, increasing the export potential of the state, introducing digital technologies in the industry, investing heavily in the development of the educational system and the implementation of youth policy were identified.

 Speaking about the long-term tasks, the President noted that in the second half of the year it is planned to hold a large number of events at the international and domestic level, including the celebration of Independence Day and Neutrality Day, preparations for the 300th anniversary of the poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.

 Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted that during the celebration of Independence Day in Ashgabat, a regular meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan will be held, at which successes and achievements in the development of the state, the results of the work performed, important tasks will be discussed, based on the requirements of the time and new economic conditions.
