Today, August 4, a summit of the heads of state of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will be held in Ashgabat. In the morning, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in the Turkmen capital, according to TDH.

At the tripartite summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, it is planned to discuss topical issues of regional cooperation development.

Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have large reserves for increasing cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, increasing the volume of mutual trade turnover, development of industrial cooperation, deepening business contacts, and implementing joint projects. There are also significant opportunities for cooperation in the field of agriculture.

At the same time, a significant role is assigned to the activities of bilateral intergovernmental commissions and business councils designed to contribute to the implementation of the reached agreements, the intensification of productive ties.

Among the priority areas of cooperation are transport and logistics, which is due to the favorable geographical and geopolitical situation of the three countries. There are wide prospects for adding up efforts to develop multimodal transport and transit and logistics infrastructure along transcontinental routes east-west and north-south.

Another relevant vector of partnership is the energy sector, which also has solid potential.

An integral and important component of interstate relations is the humanitarian sphere.
