The President of Turkmenistan outlined the main directions for the development of the oil and gas industry

 President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking on Sunday at a meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, named the most important directions for the development of the country’s fuel and energy complex.

 Among the priority tasks were the development of the oil and gas industry of our country, which has rich reserves of energy resources, diversification of natural gas supplies to world markets, processing of oil and gas resources for the production of high-quality products that meet international standards, which are important directions of the implemented energy strategy.

 As an example of successfully carried out work, the construction of new facilities at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, allowing for deep, waste-free processing of crude oil, was cited.

 As key vectors for the development of the oil and gas industry, the head of state identified the completion of the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline, attracting foreign investment for the development of promising areas of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and the implementation of large production projects, the development of gas science and practice, the introduction of new technologies and  modernization of technical drilling capabilities, expansion of the scale of deep processing of hydrocarbon resources at a higher level, exchange of experience with leading foreign companies in the introduction of digital technologies, carrying out seismic and geological exploration work.
