The International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2023” began work in Ashgabat

 Today in the afternoon, the XXVIII International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2023” began its work at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 The forum delegates listened with great attention to the address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the XXVIII International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2023”.

 As noted in the message of the head of state, Turkmenistan strives to use natural resources in the interests of not only the Turkmen people, but also other peoples of the planet, and is taking effective measures in this area.

 Today, for our country, which occupies one of the leading positions in the world ranking in terms of hydrocarbon reserves, the priority is the introduction of advanced scientific and technological developments into the oil and gas sector and maintaining environmental safety in the core industry, the President emphasized.

 The head of state expressed confidence that such forums are important for developing effective mechanisms for interaction and establishing direct contacts, which makes it possible to launch new joint projects for the development and rational use of Turkmenistan’s colossal fuel and energy resources.

 The plenary session of the forum is dedicated to the future of global energy.  The first report at the event was made by the Deputy Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengas" Myrat Archaev, who spoke about the achievements of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan.

 Then the President of SOCAR Rovshan Najaf, as well as the President of the Chinese Oil and Gas Corporation CNPC Hou Qijun, shared their views and ideas on the future of global energy.

 During the main meeting of OGT-2023, leaders and representatives of international organizations, large national and international oil and gas companies also spoke.  The moderator of the plenary session is the head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, John McGregor.

The next sessions of the oil and gas forum in Ashgabat will be devoted to current energy needs and investments in future energy systems, environmental aspects of hydrocarbon production, monetization and diversification of new energy resources, technological innovation, etc.

 The conference is attended by government officials, representatives of international organizations, oil and gas companies and experts from the USA, Russia, China, UAE, UK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, Turkey, Azerbaijan, etc.

 The forum will also address current issues in the development of the energy sector of Turkmenistan and the region, such as the efficient use of natural resources;  development of markets and investment activities;  development of new deposits;  processing of hydrocarbon raw materials;  petrochemical, gas chemical, chemical and electric power industries;  greening of production;  introduction of innovative technologies.

 The oil and gas conference and the parallel industry exhibition will become a platform for exchanging experience and knowledge, as well as for finding new opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector.

 Tomorrow the international forum will continue its work.

Over 320 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas supplied since the start of operation of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, – CNPC

Since the opening of the transnational Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline in 2009, over 320 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas have been exported to the Celestial Empire. General director of the branch of the National Petroleum Corporation of China (CNPC) Chen Huailong stated this, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television reported.

Turkmenistan is one of the three leaders in the supply of gasoline to Uzbekistan

In January-November 2021, Uzbekistan imported 141.2 million liters of motor gasoline from Turkmenistan. This was reported by the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan. Thus, Turkmenistan ranks second in the supply of motor gasoline to the neighboring country.
