Turkish company to build new gas compressor station in Turkmenistan

The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution authorizing the State Concern "Turkmengas" to enter into a contract with Çalik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Republic of Turkey) for the design, construction and equipping of the Shatlyk-1 gas compressor station in Mary velayat with the necessary equipment and commissioning, TDH reports.

The new facility, which is of great importance in diversifying the supply of Turkmen natural gas to world markets, will be built using national investments.

According to the document, the terms of the contract provide for the reconstruction or construction of new external supply engineering systems and structures for electricity, gas, water supply, communications and sewerage with connection to the general network.

The document requires that construction work begin in September 2024 and that the facility be fully operational in September 2026.
