A solemn presentation ceremony of a collection of selected poems of the great poet-thinker Mahtumkuli Fragy was held today in the conference hall of the main building of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan.

Employees of the industry, as well as representatives of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Mahtumkuli Turkmen State University and the Turkmen State Institute of Culture, and the media were invited to participate in the event.

Opening the ceremony, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Amanov, who oversees the fuel and energy sector in the government, congratulated the audience on the publication of a new collection of selected works of Mahtumkuli Fragy, prepared by scientists of the Mahtumkuli Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and published by the State Publishing Service on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the classic of Turkmen literature.

The Vice-Chairman recalled that the book was first presented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting and its first copy was sent to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In this connection, Batyr Amanov quoted the words of the head of state: "This collection of poems by the great Turkmen thinker, which have become the common property of mankind, will be a worthy gift to the Turkmen people in the year of the "Treasury of Reason of Mahtumkuli Fragy".

Then the floor was given to the Minister of State - Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengas" Maksat Babaev, Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmennebit" Guvanch Aghajanov, Chairman of the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" Gurbangeldy Garlyev, Mahtumkuli scholars, a representative of the trade union organization of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan, and industry specialists.

As it was noted, the work of Mahtumkuli, who dedicated his life to serving the people, is multifaceted: it includes the everyday life of Turkmens of the 18th century, historical and political events of the era, love for the Homeland, and eternal philosophical questions of life. Poems on these topics are collected under the cover of a new book, on the pages of which the reader can find answers to many questions that excite him, as well as appreciate the universal and enduring significance of the thoughts of the great poet-philosopher. These words were confirmed by lines from the works of the poet-humanist, which sounded during the event.

The speakers emphasized the importance of the new collection, published in the form of separate books in Turkmen, Russian and English languages, in the study and popularization of the poet's legacy.

The informative and colorfully illustrated book was a wonderful gift for the widest range of readers, the participants of the presentation stated.

The festive atmosphere of the event was supported by performances of artists of the Cultural Center of SC "Turkmengas".

At the end of the presentation, its participants adopted an Appeal to the President of Turkmenistan, in which they expressed their gratitude to the head of state for the great attention paid to the popularization of the spiritual national heritage, the development of the country's economic power and, in particular, its oil and gas industry. The audience addressed their wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for good health and new successes in his large-scale activities aimed at the prosperity of the Fatherland and the well-being of the people.
