Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka have the potential for cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, chemical industry, transport and other areas

The potential for cooperation in the oil and gas and chemical industries, transport and logistics sector and other areas was noted during political consultations held on May 30 in the format of a video conference between Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country reports.
During the consultations, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, and agricultural spheres, and also identified priorities for further bilateral interaction.
In particular, it was noted that there was potential for cooperation in the oil and gas and chemical industries, the transport and logistics sector, the textile industry, tourism and education, the Foreign Ministry noted.
It is also reported that the interlocutors considered the prospects for exchanging visits at various levels and expanding relations between the parliaments of Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka. The importance of improving the legal framework of bilateral partnership was emphasized.
Diplomats also noted the importance of continuing inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs political consultations, intensifying economic ties by establishing close relations between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, as well as holding business forums with the participation of the business circles of Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka.
