Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate for seven months amounted to 6.3%

The results of the seven months of the current year demonstrate the success of the programs implemented in Turkmenistan. A clear confirmation of this is the GDP growth rate, which amounted to 6.3% for the period under review. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting last Friday, where the results of the country's socio-economic development for January-July 2024 were discussed.
In the industrial complex, this figure is 3.6%, in the transport and communications sector - 7.1%, in the services sector - 7%, in trade - 7.8%, in construction - 9.3%, in agriculture - 7.8%, - the head of state noted.
During the government meeting, it was also reported that, compared to the same period last year, in January-July 2024, overall production increased by 11.5%, and the volume of retail trade increased by 11%.
In January-July, the revenue side of the State Budget was executed at 102.9%, and the expenditure side at 97.8%. The wages at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 10.5% compared to the same period in 2023. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were financed in a timely manner and in full.
During the specified period, the plan for the development of capital investments from all sources of financing increased by 12.1% compared to the same period last year.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified the adoption of necessary measures to maintain the stability of macroeconomic indicators of the national economy among the priority tasks.
Particular importance should be attached to ensuring high GDP growth rates, the head of state continued, instructing to keep the modernization of existing industries and the creation of new ones under strict control.
