Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Astana, held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on September 8, TDH reports.

During the meeting, the implementation of previously reached agreements was discussed. The parties exchanged views on key issues of partnership, which is dynamically developing in various formats, including through international and regional organizations.

As noted, thanks to joint efforts, a high level of development of Turkmen-Kazakh relations has been achieved in recent years. Despite the ongoing difficult situation in the world, our countries successfully interact on the basis of equality, respect and mutual support, the parties stated, speaking in favor of further expanding cooperation.

It was emphasized that the interstate dialogue is currently strengthening in a wide range of areas. Among the promising vectors were identified trade, oil and gas, agriculture, energy and other industries.

According to the mutual opinion of the interlocutors, contacts at the highest level serve as a stimulating factor for the development of bilateral cooperation. In this context, the willingness to continue to support the establishment of close contacts between the relevant structures of the two countries for the timely implementation of the intended goals was confirmed.

Emphasis was also placed on the fruitful activities of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, as well as regular consultations and meetings between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

At the same time, the importance of the participation of delegations of our countries in major economic forums organized in Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan was noted, which directly contributes to a steady increase in trade turnover, the establishment of new contacts, the specification of long-term plans and the identification of areas for the implementation of new joint projects. In this regard, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that an Investment Forum will be held in Ashgabat in the coming days, and delegates from many countries, including Kazakhstan, are expected to attend.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to visit Turkmenistan and take part in the celebrations dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtumguly Fragi's birth as an honorary guest.

In this regard, it was noted that special importance is attached to the upcoming summit, during which an exchange of views on current issues of bilateral relations will take place, opportunities for deepening interstate dialogue in various fields will be discussed, and intergovernmental documents will be signed.

Having gratefully accepted the invitation, the head of the neighboring country expressed confidence that the meeting in Ashgabat and the agreements reached as a result will contribute to the expansion of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation. In this context, issues of preparation for the upcoming visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan in October this year were considered.

As TDH notes, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, made a working visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the official opening ceremony of the V World Nomad Games.
