The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree approving the Concept for the Development of the City of Arkadag in 2024-2052. The corresponding document was published on September 25 in the media of Turkmenistan.
“In order to ensure the harmonious and sustainable development of all systems of the city of Arkadag, regular provision of comfortable conditions for living, working, rest and further improvement of the social and living standards of the population, I decree to approve the Concept for the Development of the City of Arkadag in 2024-2052,” the decree says.
The relevant ministries, departments and the administration of the city of Arkadag have been instructed to ensure the implementation of the approved Concept.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking on the eve of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, said that this year the anniversary of the opening of the first “smart” city of Arkadag in the history of the country was solemnly celebrated. At the recent international exhibition in the Republic of Korea, the city of Arkadag received three awards. It is noteworthy that this city was then awarded the main prize as the most distinguished among smart cities, which is a source of special pride.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the second stage of construction of this city is currently underway. Within its framework, it is planned to build and open a number of structures by 2026 - comfortable residential buildings, specialized industrial production facilities, social infrastructure facilities.
