Turkmenistan and US officials discuss cooperation on Global Methane Commitment

On November 7, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a videoconference meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt , during which they discussed cooperation on the Global Methane Commitment. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan .
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the constructive nature of relations between the countries, especially in areas such as trade and economics, energy, transport, logistics and others.
The American side highly appreciated the progress made by Turkmenistan in fulfilling international commitments on climate change since the country joined the Global Methane Commitment.
Pyatt noted Turkmenistan’s successful cooperation with the American companies Tetrotech and Deloitte in implementing climate initiatives and projects.
The parties also discussed key issues on the agenda of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29), which will be held in Baku.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the fight against climate change and in other areas of mutual interest.
