New Ambassador of Brazil Invites Turkmenistan to COP-30 Climate Forum

Possibilities of expanding trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed at a meeting between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova and the new Brazilian Ambassador Marcel Fortuna Biato (with residence in Astana), who presented his credentials, TDH reports. 

Biato emphasized the importance of the upcoming 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) scheduled for next year in Brazil and invited the delegation of Turkmenistan to participate in it. 

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current level of political and diplomatic ties between the two countries, the importance of joint efforts to strengthen peace, trust between countries and peoples, as well as to expand areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. 

On the same day, Ambassador Biato presented copies of his credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov.  At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of developing political and diplomatic cooperation. The effectiveness of cooperation within the UN was noted.

Turkmenistan plans to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the long term

In the medium term, Turkmenistan plans to achieve zero growth in greenhouse gas emissions, and in the long term – to annually reduce their level.
