Turkmen-American Business Forum Discusses Promising Areas of Mutually Beneficial Partnership

On December 16, the Turkmen-American Business Forum was held in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, during which issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, and plans for the near future were outlined.
The Turkmen side at the forum was headed by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev. The US delegation was headed by Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council Eric Stewart, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
Among the US companies represented at the forum were Case New Holland, Climate Compass, Boeing, John Deere, Nicklaus Companies, Westport Trading Europe, and others.
During the meeting, the importance of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council in the development of mutually beneficial ties between the two countries was especially emphasized. In this regard, the effectiveness of regular business meetings, forums and exhibitions held by the Council in cooperation with Turkmen partners was noted.
Among the priority areas of cooperation, the parties identified trade and investment activities in the supply of equipment for industry, agriculture and water management. In addition, prospects for expanding partnership in such areas as the fuel and energy complex, transport and communications, construction, innovative technologies, healthcare, ecology, etc. were announced.
American companies confirmed their interest in further expanding partnership with Turkmenistan.
The participants of the business forum also exchanged views on the possibilities of expanding trade between the two countries and increasing bilateral cooperation in the field of high technology.
As part of the forum, meetings were held between representatives of relevant ministries, departments and private companies of Turkmenistan with American businessmen, during which joint plans and projects were discussed.

Topical aspects of the Turkmen-Chinese partnership were discussed on December 26 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan at a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Serdar Muhammetdurdyev and Deputy Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Chen Zhou.
