President of Turkmenistan: Great successes were achieved in 2024, planned plans were fulfilled

On February 7, at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov summed up the results of 2024 and outlined long-term plans for the current year, declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust", TDH reports.
Among the main results of 2024, the head of state outlined the maintenance of high rates of economic development, ensuring food security, and improving the social and living standards of Turkmen citizens.
In 2024, great successes were achieved, planned plans were fulfilled, and activities to develop and implement modern laws continued, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, speaking at an expanded meeting of the government.
At the same time, the high rate of economic development was maintained. GDP growth was 6.3%, including 1.5% in the industrial sector, 10.1% in trade, and 5.3% in agriculture.
Last year, the volume of investments increased by 9.1%, and a total of 5,735 new jobs were created. The volume of exports of products manufactured in the country reached 12 billion US dollars, the President noted.
The head of state also added that last year, 86 production and socio-cultural facilities were opened using all sources of funding, and 1 million 145 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned. Thousands of families celebrated housewarming parties.
Last year, the construction of the second stage of the "smart" city Arkadag, built for the first time in the history of our country, was continued, the head of state continued.
Large projects related to the fuel and energy complex are being implemented, in particular, the construction of the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline, called "Arkadagyň ak ýoly", which is the main link in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, has been launched. In addition, the second stage of the Baherden and Lebap cement plants in the Ahal and Lebap regions, the Balkan-Dashoguz high-voltage power line and power plants, modern drinking water purification facilities were put into operation, the President said.
The farmers, having collected high yields, ensured the country's food security. The State Budget for 2025 was adopted, the amounts of wages, pensions and state benefits were increased once again, the head of Turkmenistan continued.
Among the state priorities in 2025, the President outlined the next measures to improve the social and living standards of the population of our country.

This year, it is planned to commission a road bridge across the Garabogazkol Bay in the Balkan region, the International Airport Complex in the village of Jebel in the Balkan region.
