The working group discussed the draft intergovernmental agreement on the Caspian Sea - Black Sea transport route

The draft intergovernmental agreement on the establishment and implementation of the international transit and transport corridor "Caspian Sea - Black Sea" was discussed at a quadripartite working meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on February 11.
The meeting, held in the format of a video conference, was attended by heads and representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, as well as other departments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania.
The meeting participants considered issues of increasing cargo transportation and stimulating cooperation with all interested parties, including the European Union.
The parties noted the expected positive effect in trade relations of all project participants, as well as the importance of involving international organizations in the field of cargo transportation to connect European and Asian markets.
In order to improve the quality of transport services, the parties also discussed the possibility of using digital technologies.
The meeting participants expressed confidence that the quadripartite intergovernmental Agreement on the establishment and implementation of the international transit and transport route "Caspian Sea - Black Sea", the signing of which is planned for this year, will make a significant contribution to the development of international freight transport between Central Asia and Europe.
