Turkmenistan and Austria are ready to further deepen cooperation

Representatives of the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Austria confirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation during political consultations, the Foreign Ministry of our country reported on February 11.

The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, the Austrian side was headed by Deputy Director General for Political Affairs, Director of the Department for the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, Eastern Partnership, Turkey and Central Asia and the Arctic of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria Gerhard Sailler.

Speaking about the significant potential for increasing cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, the parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation and specified its promising areas.

During the consultations, priority areas of bilateral relations were discussed, including issues of political and diplomatic dialogue, trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian partnership.

The diplomats touched upon the practical implementation of the Cooperation Program between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Austria for 2024-2025, signed in March 2024 in Vienna.

The parties emphasized the importance of holding the current meeting in the International Year of Peace and Trust, marked by the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality and the 70th anniversary of Austria's Neutrality.

The interlocutors noted the high level of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international structures, in particular the UN, OSCE and the EU. In this regard, they confirmed their readiness to continue mutual support for initiatives in international organizations.
