Turkmenistan voiced a number of relevant initiatives at the 3rd Caspian Economic Forum

A delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov took part in the work of the Third Caspian Economic Forum, held on February 17-18 in Tehran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
In his speech, the Vice-Chairman proposed considering the possibility of creating joint logistics centers and platforms, emphasizing the importance of the North-South transport corridor projects along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea with further access to Iran and further to the seaports of the Indian Ocean and the Trans-Caspian international transport route, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes.
The head of the delegation of Turkmenistan also focused on the importance of Ashgabat's initiatives to create a Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity and the Alliance for Global Energy Security and Sustainable Development, as well as to develop a Global Framework for the Transition to a Circular Economy.
During the forum, representatives of the Caspian states discussed a wide range of issues on the further development of five-sided cooperation.
The agenda of the plenary session of the economic forum included discussion of key issues of trade and economic cooperation in the Caspian region, prospects for partnership in the field of transport infrastructure, energy, protection of the marine environment of the Caspian Sea and others.
The participants expressed confidence that the agreements reached at the forum will contribute to the economic integration of the region and strengthen the role of the Caspian as a strategic center of international trade.
Following the plenary session, the heads of delegations adopted the Joint Communique of the Third Caspian Economic Forum.
Within the framework of the forum, the delegation of Turkmenistan was received by the President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as the First Vice President of the IRI Mohammad Reza Aref.
