Vice-Chairman of Turkmenistan discussed issues of joining the organization with the Director General of the WTO

2025 During his visit to Geneva on April 9, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamurad Geldymuradov met with the Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed interaction and possible forms of further cooperation between Turkmenistan and the WTO, including issues related to the process of Turkmenistan's accession to the organization.
The Director General of the WTO highly appreciated Turkmenistan's efforts and professionalism in matters related to joining the WTO. Okonjo-Iweala separately expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the strategic support in this area.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation on the path of Turkmenistan's integration into the multilateral trading system.
