On Wednesday, April 23, the International Investment Forum of Turkmenistan TEIF 2025 will begin its work in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The organizers of this major event are the State Concerns "Turkmengas", "Turkmennebit" and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan with the support of the ES "Turkmen Energy Forum".

Registration of delegates will take place today at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur Hotel from 14:00 to 21:00 local time, reports "Turkmen Energy Forum". It is noted that 470 delegates from 42 countries will participate in the forum. The official opening of TEIF 2025 will take place tomorrow at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC).

A high-level delegation from Turkmenistan will demonstrate the country’s economic vision and energy potential to delegates at TEIF 2025. Led by government officials and supported by the heads of the State Concerns "Turkmengas", "Turkmennebit" and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, the delegation aims to strengthen bilateral ties, expand cooperation with Asian and international partners and provide a portfolio of investment-ready projects in the energy, infrastructure and logistics sectors.

Given the fact that Turkmenistan has established itself as a reliable energy partner and strategic hub in Eurasia, TEIF 2025 will be a key platform to advance the country’s economic diversification agenda and attract foreign direct investment.

PETRONAS President and Group CEO Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik will deliver the keynote address as a speaker at one of the most anticipated plenary sessions of the forum: “International Year of Peace and Trust: Turkmenistan’s Role in the Future of Global Energy and Sustainable Growth”. China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Company (CNODC) Deputy General Manager Wu Dawei will speak at Session 1: “New Investment Opportunities in Turkmenistan’s Energy Sector: Natural Gas and Monetization”. Given China’s energy strategy, his perspective on gas partnership and innovation will provide a timely perspective on regional energy security and monetization models.

Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Zaki Aijaz will join Session 4: “Strengthening Synergies between the Private Sectors of Turkmenistan and Malaysia: Industrial and Services Development.” At a time when global investment flows are increasingly directed towards the Global South, his participation reflects the growing relevance of regional trade alliances.

Other confirmed speakers for TEIF 2025 include: Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Atsuko Hirose, Secretary-General, Energy Charter Secretariat, Haitham Al Gais, Secretary-General, OPEC, Francesco La Camera, Director-General, International Renewable Energy Agency, Mohamed Hamel, Secretary-General, Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Ismadi bin Ismail, CEO, PETRONAS Charigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, Fatih Birol, Executive Director, International Energy Agency (IEA), Abdulla Al Shamsi, Director, Business Development, XRG (ADNOC), Valérie Ducros, Executive Director, Global Gas Centre (GGC).
