Turkmenistan is ready to offer French businessmen all favorable conditions for investment and further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation. This was stated by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the Turkmen-French Economic Forum held at the InterContinental Paris - Le Grand Hotel, located in the center of Paris.

"The experience accumulated during the joint work with its positive results allows us to look confidently to the future. Turkmenistan is ready to offer French businessmen all favorable conditions for investment and further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, said Hero-Arkadag, whose speech was published on May 7 in the central media of Turkmenistan.

The head of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan focused on issues of partnership in a number of areas.

"First: we are ready to further promote French products and services in the Turkmen market, especially in such areas as the oil and gas sector, satellite technologies, transport, cadastre, water resources, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals and others," Hero-Arkadag noted.

"Second: Turkmenistan is interested in attracting advanced French experience in the field of urban development, monitoring methane emissions, geological exploration, supply of oil and gas equipment, "green" and hydrogen energy," the head of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted.

As noted, these issues can be included in the agenda of the Turkmen-French working group on cooperation in the field of energy, the next meeting of which is proposed to be held this year.

"We also consider it appropriate to continue the practice of holding international events similar to the energy forum held in Paris in 2024," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

Further, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty proposed to study the possibility of attracting small and medium-sized French enterprises to do business in Turkmenistan. Among other areas of cooperation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov named the development of tourism and the training of Turkmen specialists in all of the above areas.

"We are ready to begin practical discussions of the above and other proposals, as clearly demonstrated by the participation of businessmen from Turkmenistan at the current meeting," concluded Hero-Arkadag.

"We will create a favorable investment climate for companies interested in investing in the economy of our state," said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, adding that the country has formed a solid regulatory framework that guarantees the reliability of investments, complies with generally recognized norms of international law and is currently working effectively."

"Over the years of independence, we have established and currently maintain constructive cooperation with leading foreign business partners, including French ones, among which are such companies and business structures as Cifal, Bouygues, Vinci and Schneider Electric. They are actively involved in the major programs being implemented in our country,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted. As an example, state programs in the field of development of the oil and gas, gas chemical, agricultural and construction industries, the country's industrialization program for the period up to 2030 and the National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country up to 2052 were named.
