Turkmenistan celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War

On May 9, all over Turkmenistan, a great national holiday was celebrated – the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
In the morning, a ceremony of laying flowers at the monuments of the memorial complex "Halk hakydasy" was held in the capital of the country, in which the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part.
In the Address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to his compatriots, it was emphasized that in Turkmenistan, veterans who demonstrated a true example of love and loyalty to the Fatherland in 1941-1945, mothers who survived the harsh days of the war, and all who courageously fought for a great goal are treated with great respect. For the courage and bravery shown on the battlefield, our compatriots were awarded the high title of Hero, awarded military orders and medals. Among them is Berdimuhamed Annayev, the great-grandfather of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the grandfather of Hero-Arkadag, whose life today serves as an example of true patriotism, valor and nobility for Turkmen youth.
In Turkmenistan, the needs of front-line soldiers and their families are treated with special care and attention. The names of National Heroes are immortalized in the commemorative publications "Hatyra" and "Şöhrat".
The ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of the Mejlis, members of the Government, heads and representatives of ministries and departments, military and law enforcement agencies, public organizations, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, honorary elders and gray-haired mothers, youth and the media. On the same day, on the occasion of Victory Day, residents of cities and villages of our country laid flowers at monuments and obelisks erected in honor of the National Heroes who died on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Performances of creative groups took place at concert venues of all regions and etrap centers.
