Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and China discussed bilateral strategic partnership by phone

Bilateral strategic partnership issues were discussed during a telephone conversation on May 26 between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, the Foreign Ministry of our country reports.

The parties discussed bilateral strategic partnership issues, in particular, in such important areas as political and diplomatic cooperation, economics, energy and a number of other areas, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The long-term mutual support of Turkmenistan and China for each other in the United Nations, other international structures and formats was emphasized.

It was noted that the main factor in the dynamic development of Turkmen-Chinese relations is the open, friendly and constructive dialogue established at the highest state level. It is the regular meetings of the leaders of Turkmenistan and China that serve as a solid foundation for building up the potential for cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of areas, the statement said.

The Foreign Ministers emphasised the importance of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and agreed to continue regular bilateral contacts along diplomatic lines.
