Prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and US companies discussed

On June 8, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the executive director of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council Eric Stewart, the Foreign Ministry of our country reports.

During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and US companies.

The trade and economic sphere, fuel and energy sector, transport and communications, industry, agriculture, high technologies, etc. were named among the current areas of bilateral cooperation.

Along with this, the interlocutors considered the possibilities of intensifying contacts in such important areas as cybersecurity, green technologies and education.

Particular emphasis was placed on the activities of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council and its role in strengthening interstate relations.

The head of the Foreign Ministry expressed the commitment of the Government of Turkmenistan to expanding trade and economic cooperation with business structures of the United States. At the same time, the long-term positive contribution of American companies to the development of various areas of the Turkmen economy was noted.

The meeting participants expressed mutual interest in the successful development of the partnership.
