Prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan discussed on the sidelines of SPIEF-2025

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025), Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev met with Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further development of trade and economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan.
Minnikhanov expressed deep gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his attention to the development of relations between the two countries within the framework of Russian-Turkmen relations. He emphasized the existence of deep historical and friendly ties between the fraternal peoples, as well as the successful development of fruitful trade and economic cooperation, the press service of the Rais of Tatarstan reports.
It was noted that a number of large enterprises from Tatarstan, including KAMAZ, KVZ, Zelenodolsk Plant named after Gorkiy, KER-Holding and Eidos, are successfully operating in Turkmenistan. According to the results of last year, the volume of trade turnover between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan exceeded $39 million.
At the same time, the parties noted the presence of significant potential for expanding cooperation. In particular, Minnikhanov proposed to intensify cooperation in such promising areas as oil exploration, gas transportation, automotive industry, aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding and the supply of chemical products.
