The President of Turkmenistan discussed cooperation prospects with the new Palestinian Ambassador

On June 19, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan, Ms. Rana Abu Hijleh, who presented her credentials to the head of state, TDH reports.
The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan, guided by the legal status of positive neutrality in its foreign policy, attaches great importance to the development of constructive international cooperation. Strengthening cooperation with the states of the Middle East is one of the priorities of our country's foreign policy.
As noted, political and diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Palestine are built on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust, including within the framework of authoritative international structures, primarily the UN.
During the exchange of views on the state and prospects of bilateral relations in the trade and economic sector, the parties noted the presence of great potential for their development.
Among the promising areas, the export of products of the petrochemical and textile industries of Turkmenistan, the agricultural and processing industries, as well as various food products were identified.
Along with this, an important part of the Turkmen-Palestinian relations is the cultural and humanitarian area.
"We will continue to support the holding of joint Days of Culture, exchanges in the field of education, national exhibitions and conferences, which are important for bringing our peoples closer together," the President of the country noted.
Taking into account the broad potential for interaction in the designated areas, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to consider specific proposals and initiatives from the Palestinian side.
