President of Turkmenistan met Russian Foreign Minister

On Wednesday, June 25, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, TDH reports.

The head of state expressed confidence that the visit of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry to our country and the planned talks will serve to further develop and strengthen Turkmen-Russian relations. Having conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Vladimir Putin, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Russian Federation is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan. Bilateral cooperation is long-term and is based on the principles of equality, trust and mutual respect.

During an interested exchange of views on the current state and prospects of partnership, it was emphasized that interstate relations are based on a rich historical experience of interaction, strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness. Political dialogue is developing dynamically, including multifaceted contacts between ministries and departments of the two countries. Interparliamentary cooperation is being carried out, and consultations between foreign policy departments are being actively conducted.
