Beijing and Ashgabat discussed prospects for cooperation in clean energy and smart cities

The development of cooperation in the field of digital technologies, intelligent energy and smart cities became the focus of attention at a meeting of the delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Turkmenistan, held at the headquarters of the leading Chinese company Tongfang Co., Ltd. in Beijing, the International Information Center of Turkmenistan reported on July 16 (https://turkmenistaninfo.gov.tm/news/13182).

The visit took place against the backdrop of the intensification of bilateral relations after the China-Central Asia summit. Representatives of the Turkmen side got acquainted with Tongfang's innovative solutions in the field of IT, energy and smart infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of partnership for the development of such projects in Turkmenistan, including within the framework of the smart city concept, already implemented in Arkadag.

The Turkmen side expressed interest in cooperation with Tongfang and its subsidiaries in the field of clean energy, digitalization of urban management and innovative production. The Chinese company, in turn, confirmed its readiness for long-term cooperation, emphasizing its experience and resources for localizing solutions. The negotiations were attended by representatives of Tongfang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tongfang Energy, the Council of the China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center and relevant experts from both sides.
