Welcoming ceremony for the participants of the Third UN Conference was held in Avaza

Today, August 5, a welcoming ceremony for the participants-delegates of the Third UN Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, TDH reports.
The ceremony was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly Philemon Young, heads and members of delegations of the countries participating in the forum, leaders and representatives of international organizations, and officials of our country.
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag noted that today the delegates of the forum witnessed a historic event held on the magnificent coast of the Caspian Sea in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
Having cordially welcomed the UN Secretary-General, heads of delegations and all participants of the celebration in the sunny and hospitable Motherland in the Turkmen language, Hero-Arkadag noted the special significance of holding the current forum in the International Year of Peace and Trust declared by the United Nations on the initiative of Turkmenistan. In this regard, confidence was expressed that joint efforts carried out in the system of international relations, large-scale measures in the name of peace, security and sustainable development will yield positive results.
Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that there will be an effective exchange of views and positive proposals will be put forward on all aspects of the agenda of the high-level international forum, which is being held for the third time.
Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people continued his speech in Russian, one of the official languages of the UN. Once again, on behalf of the people of Turkmenistan, warmly and cordially welcoming those gathered, Hero-Arkadag expressed gratitude to everyone for participating in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. - We perceive such a broad representation at this Forum as a sign of respect for Turkmenistan, trust and high appreciation of the role of our country in the international arena, its efforts in establishing cooperation and mutual understanding, - emphasized Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

As noted, holding the current Conference is quite natural and deeply justified. It is an organic part of the large, serious work carried out by our countries over many years and aimed at increasing the role of developing countries in global processes, drawing attention to their problems and legitimate interests, ensuring a worthy place in the modern world order.
