On August 5, on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a number of bilateral meetings with heads of state and foreign delegations, TDH reports.
The talks with the heads of Central Asian states and representatives of leading world powers became further evidence of Turkmenistan's active role in strengthening regional and international cooperation.
The meeting between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was marked by a special moment: on this day, he was awarded the Order of Turkmenistan "For Contribution to Cooperation". As the interlocutors emphasized, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan consider each other as close neighbors and reliable partners, developing cooperation in agriculture, electric power and the oil and gas sector, as well as in the creation of transport and energy corridors.
Negotiations with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev demonstrated a coincidence of views on issues of the regional and global agenda. The leaders noted the dynamic growth of trade turnover and confirmed their readiness to deepen partnership in the areas of trade, energy, transport and ecology.
At a meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the need to fully utilize existing opportunities in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres was emphasized.
In a conversation with the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev, the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation in creating effective and sustainable transport routes based on the principles of brotherhood and good neighborliness was noted.
Negotiations with the King of Eswatini Mswati III became a landmark event; during his current visit, a Protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was signed. The King praised the authority of neutral Turkmenistan, congratulating it on its unanimous election as Vice-Chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
At a meeting with Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya Mohammed Yunus Menfi, the parties noted the great potential for expanding cooperation, especially in the oil and gas sector. The leaders agreed on a systematic dialogue to find new forms and mechanisms of partnership.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze discussed the intensification of the transport and logistics sector. Turkmenistan expressed interest in developing key corridors, including the Black Sea - Caspian Sea and Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey.
During the meeting of the head of Turkmenistan with Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, it was emphasized that the countries are actively developing relations both on a bilateral and multilateral basis. The parties confirmed their commitment to the dynamic development of interstate dialogue based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutually beneficial partnership.
During the talks with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, the parties noted the productivity of cooperation in transport, energy and industry, and also noted traditional contacts in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
At the meeting with Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Yun, successful cooperation in energy and the importance of inter-parliamentary relations were noted.
With First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref, issues of effective partnership in the fuel and energy, transport and communications and construction industries, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were discussed.
The meetings were held in a constructive atmosphere and confirmed Turkmenistan's desire to strengthen international cooperation. The participants expressed confidence that the UN Conference in Avaza will become a powerful impetus for strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships.
