The key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States were discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs John Mark Pommersheim, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on August 7.

The parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.

The interest in holding political consultations this year was noted.

In addition, the parties discussed additional issues of mutual interest, the MFA said.

During the meeting, gratitude was expressed to the American side for the participation of the US delegation in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC). The participation of the delegation in the RNCDM was noted in the message of US President Donald Trump, sent to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in March of this year.
