Environment protection and the ensuring of ecological safety are the responsibility of every person on planet Earth. Our country’s state policy in this area includes the rational use of natural resources, the reduction of harmful emissions, the development of public environmental awareness and the creation of a clean, healthy, and comfortable living environment. Environmental policy, pursued under the leadership of our esteemed President, has achieved significant results in recent years.

Currently, the country’s socioeconomic development is closely intertwined with environmental issues. The transition to a green economy is gaining momentum, and measures are being implemented to introduce eco-innovations into various sectors of the economy, to promote the transition to environmentally friendly transport and to improve energy efficiency. Thanks to new technologies, air quality monitoring is improving, and specific work is being carried out to ensure that the activities of plants and factories under construction and operating comply with environmental requirements.

In its environmental safety policy, Turkmenistan is focused on international cooperation. Turkmen environmentalists are studying the experience of developed countries and establishing contacts with reputable international organizations. At the Avaza International Forum, sessions and meetings on UN-Turkmenistan cooperation in environment protection, its achievements and ways to expand it were held. In his speech at the Third Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries held in Avaza, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the need to focus on the effective implementation of the provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Youth are the builders of our country’s future. Therefore, all scientific and educational institutions place great emphasis on developing environmental awareness. Environmental education classes foster an understanding of the development of modern ecology, its historical development and scientific foundations, public policy and international cooperation aimed at ensuring environmental well-being. They also teach the rules of human behavior in interaction with nature and the environment and environmental responsibility. The active participation of young people in environment protection and environmental policy implementation vividly demonstrates that Turkmenistan is confidently moving toward a happy and prosperous future.
