On September 25, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital means, where a number of state matters were discussed, TDH reports.

During the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov reported on the activities of the oil and gas sector, in particular the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation.

Specifically, it was reported that the State Corporation is currently conducting work to search for and identify underground hydrocarbon reserves in various parts of the country. Modern technologies are being effectively used in this work, as well as in drilling exploration wells.

At the same time, special attention is being paid to strengthening and modernizing the material and technical support of this structure, which is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of its activities in this area.

In this regard, the Vice-Chairman submitted a corresponding proposal for the President of Turkmenistan's consideration.

After hearing the report, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the need to identify the country's underground resources and increase hydrocarbon reserves.

Having approved the proposal to strengthen the geological field's technical infrastructure for oil and natural gas exploration, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the Vice-Chairman to take appropriate measures in this regard.
