Electric vehicles in environment protection

Electric vehicle production is an important step toward environment protection. This is vividly demonstrated by the city of Arkadag.
Arkadag, built on the initiative of the National Leader, with the first phase commissioned in 2023, has become one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the region, fully compliant with smart urban development standards. When constructing Arkadag, special attention was paid to key environmental requirements, specifically the extensive use of green technologies to preserve the natural beauty of the Kopetdag foothills. To maintain cleanliness and order in the city, modern technologies and specialized equipment are applied. Sanitary standards are strictly observed: waste is promptly removed and rendered harmless in designated areas. A range of necessary measures has been taken to ensure the environmental friendliness of the new city. In particular, numerous trees and flowers have been planted along the streets and in the surrounding area to ensure its harmonious coexistence with the surrounding nature. All of this is evidenced by the fact that the city of Arkadag has been awarded a certificate of accession to the project “Development of Sustainable, Green, Climate-Friendly Cities with Innovative Solutions in the OSCE Region”.
Another most significant environmental advantage of Arkadag is that electric buses and electric cars are the primary mode of transportation. Currently, this model city operates JAC MOTORS JAC E-J7 60 kW electric vehicles. These vehicles fully meet modern requirements. It is worth noting that electric vehicles run on electricity and do not emit harmful exhaust gases into the air, posing no harm to human health. As can be seen, it is safe to say that electric vehicle production, currently gaining popularity worldwide, has become an important step toward preserving environmental wellbeing. Indeed, over the past decade, electric vehicles have become the primary weapon in the fight against transport-related emissions. This is logical, given the volumes of exhaust gases emitted by vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICEs). The global electric vehicle market is expected to increase from 11 million in 2020 to more than 145 million by 2030. Many automakers, including Jaguar, Audi, GM and Mercedes, have also committed to fully transitioning to electric vehicles within the next five to ten years. The gradual transition of the global population to electric vehicles is more than just a popular eco-trend; it is a real opportunity to improve the environment. Let’s analyze the benefits of electric vehicles using specific examples and understand how they contribute to a cleaner environment.
An electric vehicle is fundamentally different from gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicles with ICEs. Most electric vehicle models emit no harmful emissions. The fact that electric vehicles emit no exhaust gases offers an excellent opportunity to prevent air pollution in populated areas, especially in urban ones. Of course, reducing air pollution primarily reduces the adverse environmental impact on public health.
High efficiency is a key advantage of electric vehicles. Electric vehicles draw their energy from batteries, which are charged by external power sources. Electric motors convert most of the energy into motion, significantly increasing the efficiency of this mode of transport. The ability to power electric vehicles, using solar or wind energy, makes them even more convenient. The advantages of electric vehicles are closely linked to their power sources. Work is currently underway to convert the lithium-ion batteries in these vehicles to a more environmentally friendly variant.
The introduction of environmentally friendly public transportation, using electric traction, contributes to environmental sustainability. Today, thanks to the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the construction of the second phase of the city of Arkadag is progressing at an accelerated pace. Since the opening of this smart city, which embodies the most advanced urban development achievements, eco-friendly public transportation – electric buses and electric taxis – has been operating there. From an environmental standpoint, this unique urban project – the city of Arkadag – is deservedly and proudly called a “healthy city” and an “ecologically clean city.”
