On October 10, as part of a working visit to Tajikistan, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, TDH reports.

During the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan delivered a speech outlining priority areas of cooperation within the Commonwealth.

As Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, "We consider the economy a priority area for the application of efforts and potential within the CIS. In the current geoeconomic realities, strengthening the economic and industrial might of the CIS and transforming it into a strong and profitable partner for other countries and associations is an urgent task."

This will not only allow for the dynamic development of economic ties within the Commonwealth but also ensure the CIS's strong position in Eurasia, enable long-term planning and participation in major continental, regional, and international projects, and help create modern transport and energy infrastructure, industrial and technological partnership zones. The President emphasized that the main guideline here is the CIS Economic Development Strategy to 2030. Turkmenistan believes it should be fully implemented and considered a strategic objective for joint development and cooperation.

The head of Turkmenistan placed particular emphasis on the transport component. In this regard, Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to the importance of Central Asia and the Caspian region as key logistics hubs and a connecting space in Eurasia.

The President noted that "it is no coincidence that the Caspian topic was actively discussed at the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in Turkmenistan in August of this year. It was emphasized that the transit and logistics potential of the Caspian Sea is acquiring a global dimension."

"The main arteries of Eurasian communication will pass through the Caspian region, both vertically and horizontally, from the Asia-Pacific region to Europe and the Middle East, from Russia to the South, to Iran, India, and the Gulf countries," said Serdar Berdimuhamedov. "The full participation of Commonwealth countries in the development of a Caspian logistics hub is essential," the head of Turkmenistan emphasized, emphasizing our country's readiness to contribute to this goal and to discuss with partners the possibilities of using our port infrastructure on the Caspian Sea for our common benefit.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also stated that our country is paying attention to such a significant aspect of cooperation as mutual trade, the creation of industrial and technological chains, and the development of joint production projects with the participation of Commonwealth countries.

"Technological and innovative components are the most important factors in the economic dynamism and competitiveness of the CIS. We believe that special emphasis must now be placed on this area, to initiate real, substantive technological partnerships, and to establish a systematic exchange of knowledge and expertise. We attach central importance to scientific and technical dialogue within the CIS in this process”, Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
