The President Approved the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy of Turkmenistan for 2026–2028

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution approving the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy of Turkmenistan for 2026–2028 and an action plan for its implementation. The corresponding resolution was published in the country's central media.

According to the resolution, ministries, agencies, regional administrations, and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag are instructed to ensure the implementation of the adopted State Program.

As reported by TDH, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Mammethan Chakyev presented the draft State Program and action plan at a government meeting held digitally on January 30.

The Vice-Chairman noted that the implementation of the objectives outlined in them is intended to facilitate the transition to a digital economy, the development of a national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence (AI), the application of AI-related technologies in industries, the training of specialists in this field, and the systematic improvement of their professionalism.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the country is working to develop a digital system and widely implement information and communications technologies. Having signed a prepared document aimed at further developing the digital economy, the head of state sent it to the Vice-Chairman, addressing a number of specific instructions.
