Turkmenistan calls for the implementation of major infrastructure projects in Afghanistan

During a working lunch with the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the United Kingdom, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov emphasized the importance of assisting Afghanistan through the implementation of major infrastructure projects, according to the Turkmenistan Foreign Ministry's website.
The working lunch, hosted by UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, focused on regional cooperation, including security, sustainable development, and strengthening interregional cooperation.
In his speech, Rashid Meredov presented a number of specific initiatives aimed at developing practical cooperation and strengthening regional security, including the launch of joint training programs and the creation of a new format, the "Turkmenistan-UK Cultural Dialogue”.
The minister emphasized the importance of assisting Afghanistan in its peaceful development through the implementation of infrastructure projects, including the TAPI gas pipeline, power lines, and railway construction in the Afghan direction.
