India is ready to develop specialized training programs for Turkmen civil servants, focusing on key economic sectors, including the oil and gas sector. This was reported by turkmenportal, citing Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Bandara Wilsonbabu.

The ambassador noted that such programs can be adapted to the needs of Turkmen specialists and include training in modern oil and gas production and processing technologies, project management in the energy sector, as well as resource efficiency and environmental safety in field development.

The ITEC program has been in operation since 1964 and has covered more than 225,000 civil servants from 160 countries. Turkmenistan actively participates in the initiative: over 500 Turkmen officials and approximately 100 military personnel have received training in India, and over 200 students have received higher education at the expense of the Indian government.

Wilsonbabu also noted the growing interest of Turkmen audiences in Indian culture, including yoga, Ayurveda, Indian films, and music. Cooperation between the two countries thus includes high-tech training in the energy sector, strengthens cultural ties, and creates a platform for the professional development of Turkmen specialists in the strategically important oil and gas sector.
