Turkmenistan's GDP growth for January-April 2026 was 6.3%. This was announced at a government meeting on May 1, where the results of socioeconomic development for the first four months of this year were discussed.
TDH reports that during the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, noted that GDP growth increased by 6.3% for January-April of this year, including 2.4% in the industrial complex, 6.2% in construction, 10.3% in transport and communications, 7.9% in trade, 2.2% in agriculture, and 8.4% in services.
According to the Vice-Chairman, the volume of production in January–April 2026 increased by 10.4% compared to the same period last year, while foreign trade turnover increased by 9.2%. Positive production indicators were achieved in all sectors of the economy.
It was also noted that the volume of capital investment utilized during this period from all sources of funding increased by 5% compared to the same period last year.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that the GDP growth rate has been maintained steadily. Construction of large industrial facilities, new settlements, residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, and other structures continues across the country.
Emphasizing the importance of further developing the country and its economic sectors in accordance with adopted programs, the head of state ordered that the implementation of these projects be kept under constant strict control.
