Chinese petrochemical group Puyang Shengyuan is proposing a large-scale gas processing project in Turkmenistan, aimed at expanding the industrial use of the country's gas reserves.

Company President Wang Xicheng presented this initiative at the recent Turkmen-Chinese business forum in Ashgabat. The project is conceived as an integrated gas processing complex built on three production chains: petrochemical, agricultural, and energy. The plan aims to increase the added value of natural gas, as well as create jobs and support growth in related sectors such as logistics, services, and mechanical engineering.

The key element of the project is a methanol plant with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons, as well as the production of products including high-density polyethylene and polypropylene. This was reported by business.com.tm.
