The issues of expanding export routes for the supply of Turkmen natural gas were discussed at a meeting held on Tuesday by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the participation of Vice-Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers for the fuel and energy complex, economy and foreign policy, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Vice-Chairman Shakhym Abdrakhmanov, speaking with a report on the work done, assured that in order to successfully fulfill the instructions of the head of state to increase the volume of natural gas exports, expand international gas pipeline routes, coordinated work of the relevant structures will be established.
“In this context, it is necessary to pay special attention to the development of constructive ties with the transit countries of Turkmen natural gas, to intensify the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, giving the Vice-Chairman a number of instructions on this matter.
The head of state also noted that in Turkmenistan, which has huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources, the work carried out in the oil and gas industry should be carried out in accordance with the economic policy of our state. In this regard, the President stressed that at present it is necessary to pay special attention to strengthening the role of the fuel and energy complex in the national economy, strengthening its material and technical base.
Noting the importance of active application of technological innovations and digital technologies in this area, the practical achievements of modern science, the Turkmen leader ordered to keep work in this area under unremitting control.
Addressing Vice-Chairman, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, the head of state emphasized the importance of a systematic build-up of multi-vector international cooperation.
“The initiatives promoted by Turkmenistan are designed to contribute to the achievement of the high goals of the third millennium and the successful solution of the tasks identified in the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” adopted by the Community of Nations,” the President emphasized, emphasizing the need to further strengthen the position of the country in the international space.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the successful implementation of large-scale projects prepared for the fuel and energy industry should be approached very responsibly and comprehensively.
