Results of fuel and energy complex work for January-February 2022 were discussed

The results of the work of all sectors of the national economy of Turkmenistan, including the oil and gas sector for January-February 2022, were discussed at a government meeting, which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held last Friday via video communication.
Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on the results of the activities of the sectors under his supervision for January-February of this year within the framework of the Program for the Development of the country's oil and gas industry for the period up to 2030, as well as on the ongoing work at the second stage of the development of the Galkynyş gas field.
For two months, the plan for oil production was fulfilled by 100.8%, oil refining – 110.3%, gasoline production – 117.8%, diesel fuel – 116%, lubricating oils – 111%, polypropylene – by 118.9%.
Compared to the same period last year, the growth rate of natural and associated gas production amounted to 102.7%, liquefied gas production – 108.8%.
The Vice-Chairman also reported that in January-February of this year, the plan for the export of «blue fuel» was fulfilled at the level of 114.7%.
It was also noted that in accordance with the policy of expanding international partnership in the fuel and energy complex, mutually beneficial cooperation with China in the gas sector is carried out. In this regard, proposals for the second stage of the development of the Galkynyş gas field at the expense of investment funds, prepared in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan «On hydrocarbon resources» on the basis of the «Agreement for Services with Risk», were submitted for consideration by the leader of the nation.
Having listened to the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused the Vice-Chairman's attention on the fact that, despite the necessary support provided by the state to the oil and gas complex, there is little positive dynamics in his work.
The state concerns «Turkmengas» and «Turkmennebit», as well as the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, cannot consistently fulfill planned targets in terms of certain indicators.
In this regard, the head of the state instructed the Vice-Chairman to carefully analyze the current situation and submit proposals for improving the work of the industries under his supervision.
