The President of Turkmenistan and the head of Tatarstan discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation

 The state and prospects of Turkmen-Tatarstan cooperation were discussed yesterday by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in Ashgabat for the holiday of the Turkmen horse held last Sunday.

 The interlocutors noted the great fruitful experience in the implementation of large joint projects and outlined vectors for further cooperation.

 As Rustam Minnikhanov noted, the activities of the companies KAMAZ, Tatneft, Kazan Helicopter Plant, engineering KER-Holding in the Turkmen market became an example of a successful partnership.  At the same time, it was emphasized that the business structures of Tatarstan are ready to expand business ties with Turkmenistan.

 Among the priority vectors were the fuel and energy complex, the transport and communications sector, the trade and economic sphere, agriculture, the field of high science-intensive technologies, and the strengthening of contacts between business structures.  There is also great potential for bilateral partnership in mechanical engineering, energy, oil refining and gas chemical industries.

 Noting that in recent years Tatarstan has accumulated impressive experience in the development and implementation of digital technologies, Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that Turkmenistan is interested in using the advanced experience of Tatarstan in the field of modern technologies.

 The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that the expansion of cooperation with Russia, its regions and leading industrial centers is among the key vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan.

 This confirms the commitment of our country to the comprehensive strengthening of the dialogue with the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, with which Turkmenistan has long-standing economic and cultural relations, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted.
