The VI Caspian Summit will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan

The VI Caspian Summit is being held in Ashgabat today. The summit is attended by the heads of the Caspian states – Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.
At the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin, Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Presidents of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev take part in the summit.
The heads of the «Caspian Five» will discuss important issues of interaction in the Caspian Sea, as well as exchange views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda of mutual interest.
A number of bilateral meetings of the heads of the Caspian states are also planned to be held on the sidelines of the Caspian summit.
As expected, following the meeting in Ashgabat, a communique of the sixth Caspian summit will be adopted, which will set out the agreed positions of the «five» on the further development of cooperation in the region.
