President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Astana on Friday morning to attend a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State and the Central Asia-Russia Summit. On Saturday, the program of the state visit of the head of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan will begin, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports today.

According to the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, who met the Turkmen leader at the international airport of the capital of Kazakhstan, it is expected that on October 14, Serdar Berdimuhamedov will take part in the Council of Heads of State of the CIS Member States, and in the afternoon - in the Central Asia Summit -Russia".

On Saturday, October 15, as part of the first state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan, negotiations are planned with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in narrow and expanded formats, with the participation of government delegations of the two countries.

As a result of the bilateral summit meeting, joint documents are expected to be signed.
