The expansion of Turkmen-Qatari relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres was discussed by the delegation of Turkmenistan at meetings during a working visit to the State of Qatar, the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.

The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Berdyniyaz Myatiev.

At a meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraiki, the importance of visits at the highest and high levels in promoting mutually beneficial interstate cooperation was emphasized.

The interlocutors considered the possibilities of building up cooperation in the investment and transport sectors. It was also noted that it is necessary to improve the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.

At a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Energy of Qatar, the parties exchanged views on the development of ties in the energy industry. In particular, investment projects in various sectors of the economy were discussed.

The Turkmen delegation also held a meeting with the leadership of the Qatari Development Bank, during which they discussed promising areas of trade and economic partnership. In this regard, the parties considered issues related to the expansion of cooperation in the financial and banking sectors.
