Preparations for the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) were discussed on Wednesday via videoconference by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and ECO Secretary General Khusrav Noziri. This is reported by the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
“During the meeting, a range of issues related to preparations for the next 26th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the ECO at the end of this year was discussed,” the Foreign Ministry notes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalls that on November 28, 2021, under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, the 15th Summit of the Leaders of the ECO Member States was held at a high level, at which important decisions and documents were adopted, new conditions were created for further close cooperation between the countries of the Organization.
In particular, the final document adopted at the Summit - the Ashgabat Consensus for Action is designed to bring cooperation to a qualitatively new level, and is also focused on building up interstate ties in the areas of trade, transport, energy, tourism and the fight against the pandemic.
The upcoming meeting of ECO foreign ministers aims to continue the implementation of initiatives and large-scale projects put forward at the ECO Summit of Leaders of the ECO Member States in Ashgabat in 2021.
